The split day is just like it sounds. We do a morning session fishing until the sun gets fully on the water. We then take the mid day off. We start the evening session when shadows come back on the water. We then fish till dark or until it's time for dinner at Steamboat Inn. This trip is for the serious steelheader.
The morning trips are a full shade session that starts at first light. Morning trips are 6 hours. This is a great trip for those who have family obligations in the afternoon or are having dinner at Steamboat Inn.
The Fall day starts at first light and runs for 8 hours. On stream lunch is provided with the Fall day. This is our most popular trip in September and October.
Boat trips are mostly in the Winter and can be on various rivers depending on river conditions and water levels. These trips are 8-9 hours and lunch is provided.
Provided on all trips:
State of the art rods and reels
Hand tied flies
Beverages and snacks
Expert guiding and instruction
We employ both single and double handed rods. We mainly skate dry flies in the Summer and Fall with tips coming into play late Fall and Winter. Boat trips consist mostly of nymphing out of the boat with a few stops to swing when conditions are right.
