Come fish the famed North Umpqua with us at Summer Run, the most experienced guiding team on the N Umpqua. The N Umpqua is world famous for its wild summer steelhead lush scenery and rich tradition of fly fishing. This river is one of the most challenging rivers in the world due to its slick bedrock bottom, swift currents and selective fish. N Umpqua fish average 6 to 8 pounds with the occasional fish over 10 pounds. Most fish in the fly water will be wild with some hatchery strays coming up from Rock Creek fish hatchery. We start to see fish in June with fishing really picking up in July. The river fishes well most years to mid November. If you are considering a trip mid July through mid October make reservations early these dates fill fast. Our trips employ both single hand and spey techniques, focusing mainly on dry line skating and streamer presentations. We offer both full and half day trips. Full day trips are ten hours either straight through or with a morning and evening session. Half day trips are five hours and are morning or evening.
